1. Information We Collect

When you use TIERHIRES, we collect information you provide directly:

  • Account information (name, email, password)
  • Candidate profile data (location, experience, education)
  • Employer organization data (company name, domain, industry)
  • Job application data (cover notes, application timestamps)

We also collect usage data automatically, including pages visited, features used, and device information, to improve our service.

2. Verification Data

TIERHIRES uses third-party verification providers for identity, employment, education, and credential verification. Verification results (pass/fail status, confidence scores) are stored on our platform. However:

  • Underlying verification documents (IDs, transcripts) are processed by the third-party provider and are not stored by TIERHIRES.
  • Verification receipts contain only the result status, provider reference, and expiration date.
  • Candidates control which verification data is shared with employers through consent at application time.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Compute and display trust scores for jobs, employers, and candidates
  • Facilitate job applications between candidates and employers
  • Verify employer domains and recruiter associations
  • Improve our scoring algorithms and platform features
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, application status updates)
  • Maintain audit logs for compliance and dispute resolution

4. Trust Scores and Visibility

Trust scores are computed from verifiable signals and are visible to other users:

  • Job trust scores are visible to all users (public).
  • Employer trust scores are visible to all users (public).
  • Candidate trust scores are visible to employers only when the candidate applies and provides consent.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these circumstances:

  • With employers: When you apply to a job and consent to sharing your profile and trust score.
  • With verification providers: To perform identity, employment, education, and credential checks.
  • With payment processors: Stripe processes employer subscription payments.
  • As required by law: In response to valid legal process.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security policies in our database, and secure authentication via Supabase Auth. Access to administrative functions requires service-role credentials that are never exposed to client-side code.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Audit log entries are retained for compliance purposes for a minimum of 3 years.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data stored on our platform
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Withdraw consent for data sharing at any time
  • Export your data in a portable format
